Zoe-perry

Perry was born July 25, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two shows she starred in on Roseanne. Her parents did not allow her to start acting with her parents till she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the strain it might create. Perry claimed that she was too timid to perform during high school, but started doing shows in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University moved into New York in search of television roles. She landed small parts on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness led her to California to find theater work. She appeared on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes in 2016 of ABC's show The Family. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. That same year the actress was selected to play a young model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen model of the mother's character. The role was offered to her through an open audition despite being a fan of the role.
